Ubicada en el pago de Tajuya (en el municipio de El Paso) la Casa Rural El Rincón ha sido una pieza clave en la vida vecinal desde finales del siglo XIX. La inscripción “1896”, que encontramos en su aljibe, da fe de su relevancia histórica como lugar de encuentro, trueque e intercambio de recados durante varias generaciones.

La casa cuenta con tres habitaciones, apropiadamente tematizadas según su orientación astronómica. Orión es la más septentrional, bautizada según esta constelación de invierno por ser la más oscura y acogedora. Géminis es la habitación doble, dedicada a los gemelos mitológicos Cástor y Pólux. Y Escorpio la que se orienta al sur, por tanto la más cálida y soleada.

A pesar de la notable antigüedad de la vivienda, sus propietarios han conseguido preservar algunos elementos de la construcción original. Por ejemplo, el suelo y el techo de la sala central y las habitaciones individuales, en madera de tea. En el exterior, sus bien cuidados y aterrazados jardines pivotan alrededor de una monumental palmera washingtoniana. Abundan los frutales, como los nísperos, los almendros y los ciruelos, así como las verduras de temporada, que inundan con generosidad la despensa de los clientes que así lo soliciten.

Orientada al oeste, El Rincón es una plataforma ideal para las observaciones del planeta Venus, así para despedir al Sol cada tarde. Y con ayuda de su telescopio Nextar 90 SLT, de su planisferio y de sus prismáticos Sky Master, las observaciones podrán extenderse hasta las altas horas de la madrugada.

 

 

 

 

Situated in the village of Tajuya (in the borough of El Paso) El Rincón country cottage has been a key piece of neighbourhood life since the end of the 19th century. The inscription “1896”, which you will find on the water tank, bears witness to its historic importance as a place for meeting, bartering and exchanging messages for several generations. The house has three bedrooms, suitably themed to its astronomic bent. Orion is the northernmost of these, christened in accordance with this winter constellation as the darkest and cosiest bedroom. Gemini is the double bedroom, dedicated to the mythological twins: Castor and Pollux. And Scorpio is the one facing south and thus the warmest and sunniest.Despite the significant age of the house, its owners have managed to preserve parts of the original construction. For example, the pine wood floors and ceilings of the central lounge and the single bedrooms. Outside the groomed and terraced gardens are laid out around a monumental Washington fan palm. Fruit trees abound, such as loquats, almonds and plums, together with fresh vegetables, which generously flood the guest’s larders if they so request.As if faces west, El Rincón is an ideal platform for observing Venus, and also for bidding farewell to the sun every evening. And with the help of its Nextar 90 SLT telescope, the star map and Sky Master binoculars, star gazing can go on late into the night.

 

 

 

 

Im Bezirk von Tajuya (in der Gemeinde El Paso) gelegen, war die ländliche Unterkunft El Rincón seit Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts für das nachbarschaftliche Zusammenleben äußerst wichtig. Géminis (Zwillinge) ist das Doppelzimmer, das den mythologischen Zwillingen Kastor und Pollux gewidmet ist. Und Escorpio (Skorpion), das nach Süden schaut und also das wärmste und sonnigste Zimmer ist. Trotz des bemerkenswerten Alters des Wohnhauses ist es den Eigentümern gelungen, einige Elemente des ursprünglichen Bauwerks zu erhalten. Zum Beispiel Boden und Decke aus dem Holz der Kanarischen Kiefer im zentralen Saal und den Einzelzimmern. Außen scharen sich gepflegte Terrassengärten um eine monumentale Washingtonpalme. Es gibt viele Obstbäume wie Mispeln, Mandelbäume und Pflaumenbäume sowie der Jahreszeit entsprechendes Gemüse, das großzügig die Speisekammern jener Gäste füllt, die dies wünschen.Nach Westen ausgerichtet ist El Rincón eine ideale Plattform für die Betrachtung des Planeten Venus und jeden Nachmittag zur Verabschiedung der Sonne. Und mit Hilfe eines Nextar 90 SLT Teleskops, der Himmelskarte und der Sky Master Ferngläser können sich die Beobachtungen bis in die frühen Morgenstunden ausdehnen.
