El pago de Los Quemados, en el municipio más meridional de La Palma, lleva la huella del fuego en su paisaje. Ubicado junto al volcán de San Antonio o volcán de Fuencaliente (1677), las cenizas azabaches de esta erupción alfombran la vista en todas las direcciones. Es un manto negro que resulta idóneo para la observación astronómica, ya que absorbe con eficacia cualquier rastro de contaminación lumínica. La cual, por cierto, es de por sí virtualmente inexistente en este pintoresco núcleo de apenas 250 habitantes.

Con la misma contundencia, el paraje de Los Llanos Negros (que ocupa la parte más próxima al cráter), susurra también historias vinculadas al universo del vino. Las cepas de malvasía, joya enológica por excelencia de La Palma, tienen aquí una de sus dos únicas zonas de cultivo en la isla. La mano paciente del campesino ha escarbado varios metros en esta tierra oscura, hasta encontrar el suelo fértil que les da sustento. Y por el camino atrapan los matices y los aromas que luego se transmiten a la copa.

En este entorno, dramático y afortunado a la vez, se ubica esta antigua bodega familiar de una sola planta, restaurada con gusto exquisito. Además de su acogedor interior, que acomoda dos dormitorios dobles, y de sus generosas terrazas ajardinadas, cuenta con tumbonas y una tarima de madera para disfrutar con estilo de las abundantes noches estrelladas y de las espectaculares puestas de sol. En la misma línea, encontraremos equipamiento informático especializado, prismáticos y libros de astronomía.

 

 

 

 

 

The settlement of Los Quemados, in the southernmost borough of La Palma, bears the brand of fire on its landscape. Situated next to the San Antonio volcano, or Fuencaliente Volcano (1677), the jet black ashes of this eruption carpet the view in every direction. It is a black mantle that is ideal for star gazing, as it efficiently absorbs any sign of light pollution, which, by the way, is virtually inexistent anyway in this picturesque settlement of a mere 250 inhabitants.

The village of Los Llanos Negros (covering the part closest to the crater), also exudes stories associated with the universe of wine. This is only one of two growing areas on the island for the Malmsey variety vines, an organic jewel of La Palma. The patient hand of the farmer has dug several metres into this dark land, to find the fertile soil that provides the sustenance. And along the way, it has taken in the nuances and the aromas that will be passed on to the wine.It is in this dramatic, yet fortunate setting that this old single-story family winery, restored with exquisite taste, is located. Apart from its pleasant interior, with its two double bedrooms and its generous planted terraces, it also has sun loungers and a wooden deck to enjoy the star-studded nights and the spectacular sunsets in style. Die Landschaft des Bezirks von Los Quemados, in der südlichsten Gemeinde von La Palma, ist vom Feuer geprägt und liegt in der Nähe des Vulkans von San Antonio oder Vulkan von Fuencaliente (1677) und die pechschwarze Asche dieser Eruption breitet sich wie ein Teppich in alle Blickrichtungen aus. Eine schwarze Decke, die für astronomische Betrachtung geeignet ist, da jegliche Spur von Lichtverschmutzung wirksam aufgesaugt wird. Diese ist allerdings in diesem malerischen Ort mit knapp 250 Einwohnern sowieso schon fast inexistent.Mit derselben Schlagkraft erzählt die Gegend von Los Llanos Negros (die dem Krater am nächsten gelegen ist), flüsternd Geschichten, die zum Universum des Weins gehören. Die Malvasierreben, weinbaukundliches Kleinod par excellence auf La Palma, werden hier auf den einzigen zwei Anbauzonen der Insel angebaut. Die geduldige Hand der Bauern hat mehrere Meter in diese dunkle Erde gegraben, bis sie auf den fruchtbaren Boden stießen, der den Reben Nahrung gibt. Und auf dem Weg erhaschen sie Nuancen und Aromen, die später im Glas zur Blüte kommen.In diesem zugleich dramatischen und wohlhabenden Umfeld liegt diese alte einstöckige, mit exquisitem Geschmack restaurierte Familienkellerei. Zusätzlich zu den anheimelnden Innenräumen mit zwei Doppelzimmern und den großzügigen Gartenterrassen gibt es hier Liegen und eine Holzplattform, wo man üppige Sternennächte und spektakuläre Sonnenuntergänge stilvoll genießen kann.
