Daniel pertenece a la primera promoción de Guías Starlight habilitados por el Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC), la Fundación Starlight y el Cabildo de La Palma. Este grupo de profesionales han sido instruidos en la divulgación e interpretación de la astronomía en general y del privilegiado cielo nocturno de la isla en particular. Especializado en los ámbitos del ocio activo y la naturaleza, Daniel es co-autor de la guía La Palma y sus caminos: 30 rutas escogidas, una de las publicaciones de referencia para los muchos aficionados al senderismo que visitan la isla. También ha sido editor de contenidos en el portal turístico tourlapalma.com y ha colaborado con cabeceras como Escapada, Grandes Espacios y las editoriales Prames y Desnivel. Periodista de formación, ha acompañado así mismo a multitud de redactores, cámaras y editores gráficos en sus reportajes por la isla. Medios internacionales como Condé Nast Traveler, TVE, Muntanya, The Daily Telegraph, The Independent, Masa Acher, Die Zeit y Rai 3 se han beneficiado de su asistencia. Su propuesta se basa en rutas personalizadas por los caminos de la isla, con el acento en la interpretación de la naturaleza y el paisaje, que se complementan con actividades de observación estelar a la caída del sol. La identificación de constelaciones y planetas a ojo desnudo (con ayuda de un láser astronómico) o la observación de nebulosas, galaxias y otros objetos de menor magnitud con prismáticos de gran apertura son algunas de las actividades para las que oferta sus servicios

 

 

 

Daniel is from the first class of Starlight Guides, certified by the Canary Island Astrophysics Institute (IAC), the Starlight Foundation and the La Palma Cabildo (Island Government). This group of professionals has been trained in the dissemination and interpretation of astronomy in general and of the privileged night skies of the island in particular.

Specialist in active leisure and nature, Daniel is the co-author of the guide book La Palma and its trails: 30 chosen routes, one of the benchmark publications for the many ramblers that visit the island. He was also the contents editor for the tourlapalma.com tourism portal and he has worked with titles like Escapada, Grandes Espacios and publishers Prames and Desnivel. A journalist by training, he has also accompanied countless editors, cameramen and picture editors on their reports on the island. International media such as Condé Nast Traveler, TVE, Muntanya, The Daily Telegraph, The Independent, Masa Acher, Die Zeit and Rai 3 have benefitted from his help.

His proposal is based on customised routes along the island trails, with the emphasis on interpreting nature and the landscape, complemented with star-gazing activities when the sun goes down. Identifying constellations and planets with the naked eye (with the help of an astronomy laser) or observing the nebulas and other smaller objects with wide aperture binoculars are just some of the activities he can offer as part of his service.​​​​​​​​​

 

 

 

 

Daniel gehört zur ersten Gruppe von Starlight Führern, die vom Institut für Astrophysik von Canarias (IAC), der Starlight Stiftung und dem Inselrat von La Palma akkreditiert wurden. Diese Gruppe von Fachleuten wurde in der Verbreitung und Erklärung der Astronomie im Allgemeinen und des privilegierten Nachthimmels auf der Insel geschult.

Spezialist auf dem Gebiet der aktiven Freizeit und Natur, ist Daniel Mitautor des Führers La Palma y sus caminos: 30 rutas escogidas (Wanderwege auf La Palma: 30 ausgewählte Routen), einer der wichtigsten Veröffentlichungen für die vielen Liebhaber von Wanderungen, die unsere Insel besuchen. Er war auch Herausgeber der Inhalte des Fremdenverkehrsportals tourlapalma.com und hat mit Titeln wie Escapada, Grandes Espacios und den Verlagen Prames und Desnivel zusammengearbeitet. Als ausgebildeter Journalist hat er auch viele Redakteure, Kameraleute und graphische Herausgeber während ihrer Reportagen auf der Insel begleitet. Internationale Medien wie Condé Nast Traveller, TVE, Muntanya, The Daily Telegraph, The Independent, Masa Acher, Die Zeit und Rai 3 haben seine Unterstützung zu schätzen gewusst.

Seine Vorschläge basieren auf persönlich angepassten Routen auf den Wanderwegen der Insel, mit besonderem Akzent auf die Erklärung von Natur und Landschaft, die durch Beobachtung der Sterne nach Sonnenuntergang ergänzt werden. Die Identifizierung von Sternbildern und Planeten mit bloßem Auge (mit Hilfe eines astronomischen Lasers) oder die Betrachtung von Nebeln, Galaxien und sonstigen, kleineren Gegenständen mit Ferngläsern mit großer Reichweite sind einige der Aktivitäten, für die er seine Dienste anbietet.
